Proven Leadership for Escambia County District 2
Mike Kohler has proudly served Escambia County as Commissioner since November 2022, bringing decades of leadership and a lifetime of service to the community. A Retired Navy Captain and Registered Nurse for over 34 years, Mike combines healthcare expertise with a strong commitment to public service.
As Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners (2024–2025) and Chairman of the Pensacola Perdido Bay Estuary Program (2023–2024), Mike has championed initiatives that protect our environment, strengthen public health, and ensure fiscal responsibility. He represents District 1 for the Florida Association of Counties, serves as Co-Chair for Federal Policy, and is a voting member on key committees shaping health, safety, justice, finance, and property tax policy statewide.

Key Priorities:
- Continued Commitment to Public Safety: He increased funding to the Sherrif’s department by increasing 24 new deputies over the next three years. He also supported 4 new fire house which 2 will be located in District 2. The board also increased Paramedics, EMT and additional ambulances to improve EMS capabilities.
- Fiscal Responsibility: Ensure taxpayer dollars are managed wisely and transparently.
- Community Safety & Growth: Support initiatives that make neighborhoods safer and foster economic development.
- Continue Fight on Blight: Mike is cleaning up District 2 one street at a time.
- Fighter for Storm Water Projects: Championed several storm water drainage programs to make Escambia County more resilient to flooding.
